Project Description

In this latest of a series of projects for, Dependable Auto Shippers, a nation-wide automobile shipper, we added advanced route optimization capabilities to the interactive route management system we developed for them previously.  The algorithms are based on new route metrics derived by Systems View: productive utilization and circuity, that help identify high quality routes in pickup and delivery systems with high operating costs per mile. A further innovation is the use of iterative load building schemes that identify autos that can most  efficiently be grouped and moved together. The dispatch team was given the capability to dynamically update current routes by pulling in optimized revisions, making any needed manual adjustments, and then deploying the routes to the fleet.
